Studium Musikwissenschaft, Psychologie und Kommunikationswissenschaft in Marburg, Manchester und Berlin – Ausbildung mit Schwerpunkt Kamera und Dokumentarfilm an der freien Filmschule FilmArche in Berlin.
7 Jahre lang tätig als Musik- und Kulturmanagerin
Ich produziere, führe Regie und mache die Bildgestaltung für Dokumentarfilme, Festival- und Projektdokumentationen mit Schwerpunkt Neue Musik sowie sozialen Themen u.a. zu Inklusion und Leben mit Behinderung.
Darüber hinaus realisiere ich bei unterschiedlichen Trägern Projekte zur praktischen Filmbildung: Workshops, AGs, Projektwochen mit Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen.
Ich unterrichte als Lehrbeauftragte für Ästhetische Bildung/Film an der Katholischen Hochschule für Sozialwesen Berlin.
Von 2017-2025 war ich Gastdozentin für Dokumentarfilm am Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
2010 habe ich als Regisseurin und Kamerafrau die in der Fachwelt viel beachtete DVD Produktion Maulwerke 2010 (erschienen bei WERGO) entwickelt, eine interaktive filmische Version der Komposition Maulwerke von Dieter Schnebel.
Mein Film Schnebel andante con moto über den Komponisten Dieter Schnebel (erschienen bei WERGO) wurde 2015 beim UNERHÖRT! Musikfilmfestival Hamburg als bester Dokumentarfilm ausgezeichnet.
2018 gründete ich die Produktionsfirma elgetiFILM.
Ich lebe in Berlin.

Susanne Elgeti
Studied musicology, psychology, and communication studies in Marburg, Manchester, and Berlin – trained with a focus on cinematography and documentary filmmaking at the independent film school FilmArche in Berlin.
Worked for 7 years as a music and cultural manager.
I produce, direct, and handle cinematography for documentary films, festival documentaries, and project documentaries with a focus on contemporary music as well as social issues, including inclusion and living with disabilities.
In addition, I carry out practical film education projects with various organizations: workshops, clubs, and project weeks with children, teenagers, and adults.
I teach as a lecturer in Aesthetic Education/Film at the Catholic University of Applied Social Sciences in Berlin.
From 2017 to 2025, I was a visiting lecturer in documentary film at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
In 2010, as director and cinematographer, I developed the critically acclaimed DVD production Maulwerke 2010 (released by WERGO), an interactive film version of Dieter Schnebel’s composition Maulwerke.
My film Schnebel andante con moto about composer Dieter Schnebel (released by WERGO) was awarded Best Documentary at the UNERHÖRT! Musikfilmfestival Hamburg.
In 2018, I founded the production company elgetiFILM.
I live in Berlin.
