Das Institut für digitale Medienkunst der Musikhochschule Shanghai entwickelt einen neuen Studiengang, der verschiedene künstlerische und wissenschaftliche Disziplinen zusammenführt, um innovative Formen des Musiktheaters zu erforschen. Der Film dokumentiert die Suche nach neuen ästhetischen Ausdrucksformen vor dem Hintergrund des rasanten technischen und gesellschaftlichen Wandels im heutigen China und konzentriert sich dabei auf drei Komponist*innen und ihre multimedialen Werke, die 2017 beim New Arts Festival in Shanghai präsentiert wurden.
The Institute for Digital Media Art of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music is developing a new course of studies that will bring together different artistic and scientific disciplines to investigate innovative forms of music theater. The film documents the search for new aesthetic forms of expression in light of the rapid technical and societal changes underway in contemporary China, with a focus on three composers and their multimedia works which were presented at the 2017 New Arts Festival in Shanghai.
